I Broke It

I had snow drifts today that were pretty deep so I thought I would just scoop them away. Should have left well enough alone because the plow broke before I got it done and now it is just sitting there. Good think it broke in a corner where no units are rented out and where it doesn't block traffic. I don't have any mechanical skills so it will stay right there until someone with mechanical skill comes. I learned how to spell boor, it is bore. I should have know, I know how to spell bored! (duh!)

After the Blizzard one more post to boor you

Sorry to boor (is that how you spell that word) you again. But I have nothing else to do so you have to suffer through my posts.
The wind blew and blew and blew and the snow went with the wind. The sun is now out and the wind is gone so I braved going outside (in my pj's even) to see what it was like. Interesting the pattern the snow made when it built up in some areas and blew out of other areas. I'm sure there is some scientific explanation for this.

Another drift that I hope will melt away

I opened the front door and had to push the snow away to get it open. It created quite a mound of snow right on the porch, but not out in the parking area. Go figure

This is what I saw when I opened the side door. The wind was obviously blowing this way. Oh, I'm ready for hot.

Blizzard in April

This is taken from the window at the side of the living quarters in the ministorage. The black is the top of the car. I couldn't capture the snow blowing sideways in the picture, but believe me the snow is blowing sideways!

VerLynn's Creation

VerLynn and Preston have been working in California all week pouring concrete at Don's house (VerLynn's cousin). He sent me pictures of what they are doing and I thought I would post it. I think they did a good job and it is unique too. This picture is the before part while they were setting up the forms.

Update

I just wanted everyone to know that I did buck up and got rid of the dead mouse. It's amazing the things that you can actually do when there is no one around to do them for you!

Two opposite views

I was talking to Spencer on the phone this morning and I walked into the kitchen and just about started screaming when I looked down and this was the sight I saw

But then tonight I looked out the window and this is the sight I get to enjoy every night. The picture will not do the sight justice, but you get the picture. If you double click on it, it looks a lot better. This is the Rexburg Temple and it is beautiful And by the way, the mouse is still there because I am a weany and don't want to get it out of here. Oh, it is dead, it ate the mice bait and then came inside to die! The snow all melted and then the mice showed up. Where have they been hiding while it was freezing and full of snow? You would think they would run inside to get warm while the snow is covering everything and then enjoy the outside when it melts! I need to have a talk with the rodent family. I'll tell them to stay away from me while I'm at it. Guess I need to go get a dust pan and buck up and get that dead mouse out of here!

Melanie (Preston's wife) had her ultra sound today and she is having a boy also! (Twins with different mothers!)

Happy Birthday to Spencer

Today is all about Spencer day (I just noticed my time is off on my computer, today is really Tuesday March 24th) and I wanted to post pictures that show all the different sides of Spencer. This picture was taken at some indian ruins at Lake Powell. Maybe he was afraid he was going to fall off the cliff into the lake is why the life jacket is still on. If you enlarge the picture, you can see his cute glasses. People called him Mr. Peabody.

Before he got patched up. It was pretty scarey. You can see how dazed and out of it he was by the look on his face. It knocked him clear out. VerLynn about ripped a hole in the yard trying to get to him when he saw it happen.
I'm not sure how my third child could be 27, I'm certainly not old enough for that to happen!

It's a Boy

Lori and Trevor are having a boy!!!! What a world we live in where we can announce the baby months before it is born! No last minute decisions on names that way though. Stay turned for Preston and Melanie's announcement on Wednesday!

Deryk's "Look" and Tiffani's Style

Ok, some of you might think I am bored up here so I need something to do. Well, that is the case, especially at night. I was looking at my photo album and I saw this picture of Deryk and he has that" look" that VerLynn had in a previous post. Sally said that look is genetic and described the look as "watch out cause the red laser beam is going to shoot out of my eye and liquify you."

I couldn't resist putting this one in too. I can't believe that style ever happened. The "my shirt is 5 times too big for me and is longer than my shorts" style. The hair kind of goes with it.

Mel & Preston are all packed up and ready to move back to Arizona

I am either going to be loved or hated for meddling in Preston's and Melanie's stuff. I spent the day packing up their stuff. This is their bedroom and the boxes that are ready to go. They get to live in the house they built in Eloy finally. We have a couple getting ready to move into the ministorage and manage it. He was on his mission with Preston in Hawaii. They are excited to get to move in and I think Melanie is just as excited as they are that they are moving in. That means my stays up here will be shorter too. Happy days for all.

Typical "Dees" trip

Sorry for all of the new posts today. But for those who are members of the Dees family, this photo kind of sums up most of our trips. VerLynn and Preston left Idaho yesterday to go back to Arizona. VerLynn was pulling a trailer and Preston was taking his truck back to Arizona. Yesterday the wheel came off of the trailer and they had to stop in Beaver Dam and spend the night while they got new lug nuts for the wheel. I guess they got it back on the road but it still had issues so they were worried about getting it home without another mishap. Well, the trailer made it home, but Preston had his turn, his front tire blew out and they slid off the road sideways! Everyone was ok though. I am not sure of the exact details, but they must have put on the spare. When they got to Flagstaff they noticed the other tire was about to go so they tried to find another one. It is now 11:20 p.m. and VerLynn made it home, but Preston is still in Flagstaff waiting for Deryk to bring him a tire, guess they couldn't find a spare in Flagstaff.

Little Guy

I got to spend a few hours with Preston and Melanie and little guy before they headed to the warm country while I stayed up in the cold. Here are some of the pictures I took. This one Little guy has a toy hanging out of his mouth while he plays with other toys. I put these pictures in where I can't write under each picture, so look though them. One of them has Little guy with a cell phone up to his ear. The one where he has his hand up to Preston's ear is him putting the cell phone up to his ear. Notice how photgenic (don't know how to spell it) Melanie is. She always looks beautiful and happy in every picture. Hard to catch her in a bad pose! Hope you guys have a great time in Arizona!

Another "oldie" I forgot to add

This picture was taken on Christmas day, a long time ago. Preston wasn't born yet, so it must have been about 1984. VerLynn is giving me the look that Tiffani calls a "crusty", Deryk is by his side Spencer is the head showing. Notice the real high tech computer we got that year, I think it even played some games!

More of Aaron

The Pages in North Carolina sent some more pictures of Aaron and his companion. She has a son on a mission in California, so she knows how wonderful it is to get pictures of her missionary, so she is very good about sending pictures every time Aaron eats at their house. She sent me a short video clip of him also, it is on my face book. I don't know how to get it here, she tagged it to me, so if you want to see it go to my face book page

This is one of several pictures that survived our house fire in 1987, ironic. This is our boat that caught fire on Lake Powell. If you don't know the story, yes we were on it when it caught fire and we had to jump and swim. Yes it was scarey.

Wow, who are these people? Hard to believe I ever looked like that. VerLynn even has hair, on his head and his lip!

Don't get mad Tiffani

I have been scanning pictures into my computer and I came across this one of Tiffani and I just couldn't help posting it. I'm sure she will be thrilled. But since she took off to Colorado with all of her good pictures, I am forced to share these! I would just like for her to tell us all exactly what she was thinking here! I'm sure she remembers

You will probably have to enlarge this photo to appreciate it. The first thing to appreciate is that Rabbit (the car) We used to vibrate down the road in that thing. And the second thing to appreciate in this photo is Deryk's clothes. I'm sure I will come across some other jewels as I scan in pictures so be watching out! (Sorry for the quality of the pictures, they got wet or something so the top of them are water stained. )

Ashly is 4 going on 18 Happy birthday to you

Ashly Dees the birthday girl. Her birthday is actually tomorrow, but the party was today. Ashly told me that she was going to be 4 all day tomorrow!

David loved the bear, which is the gift I bought for Ashly. He walked around hugging it.

Ashly and her birthday balloons. They wound up on the ceiling about 18' in the air. Ashly came in the room and asked Angie to get them down for her! Maybe she thinks Angie is very very tall!
