Happy Birthday to My Mom

Sorry, now I really have posted too many times in 24 hours, but I just remembered that today is my mom's 84th birthday, so here is a little tribute to her. I don't have a recent picture in my album yet this is the most recent I can find, taken earlier this year. Mom is holding Kelsie (lori's) She loves the grandkids and great grandkids. She was always there to watch our kids for us when we needed her. She still holds that love for little kids that she had when she was younger.

This was taken at someone's wedding reception. I am guessing either Lori's or Preston's since it looks like she is outside.

Not sure when this was taken, can't even identify the era by the clothing, mabey the 70's anyone know?

This Week's letter from Aaron

I have three new posts since yesterday, sorry to overload. Here's Aaron's letter from today:



howdy. well this week was awesome and the work is going amazingly well. we had 9 investigators at church. it was so awesome. we have 7 bap dates and they are all looking pretty decent so far. we will have a baptism this weekend, tiffany meyers is getting baptised on sunday. then on the 15 of august we should have at least one baptism. it is so awesome being able to see so many good things going on. this is the best and the most productive i have ever seen the work. one of the biggest reasons is because the ward is doing so much in the missionary work efforts. that is so cool that you were able to meet elder burton he is a great man and i am looking forward to seeing him again. that is funny that he has a girlfriend already i told him he would have one fast and he denied it now look who was right. haha. this morning one of the members of the bishoprick took me and elder jackman to the driving range, it was fun. i did pretty well. i drove a ball about 310 yards. it was awesome. another time i drove one and i hit the 250 yard marker dead on. he told me that i need to take up golfing when i get home. this ward i am serving in is so great, they do very good. we have really gained their trust and they want to do all they can to be involved. in pec this week the bisshop told us that the baptismal font is being retiled because the bottom tiles were messed up. he said that we are baptising so much that we broke the font. we are having a lot of fun. i hope yall have a good week, i sure will. oh ya and when you come out we may have a baptism on that saturday aug 22 we may not though there are a few complications that have to do with the word of wisdom and the law of chastity if we get those resolved we will have the baptism and i would probably want to do that. one thing i have noticed is that how i work i am not the most planned out person and when i read your email today i found out that i probably got that from dad. i just make things work when i need to. it funner that way, ha ha. well i love yall and will talk to yall later. love elder dees

Aaron's Trainer

This is my second post today, so check the one below to get the whole story. This is a picture of me with Aaron's trainer, Elder Riley Burton. I ate dinner with them today, yummy ribs. I'm gratetful that Aaron got a trainer like him. he is an outstanding young man and his family is awesome.

Idaho Weeds and My New Ride

We were all in Idaho together this last week, me, VerLynn, Nathanael and Preston. It was so nice to have everyone here. This is a picture of Nathanael taming the weeds. They all worked hard this week and they are now on their way back home. Cross your fingers, it looks like we are getting a job we bid on. VerLynn had to go home to meet with the General Contractor. So I am here alone. Which brings me to the picture below:

This is now my new ride! VerLynn took the car back home and there is no other vehicle for me to drive except this! I have to admit, in my own prideful way, I was very embarrassed driving it to church this morning. I don't mind driving it to the store, but church was a little much for me. Pride maybe? Now I am going to drive it to the Burton's for dinner. Their son was Aaron's missionary companion and they invited me over for dinner. Their son is home now.

This Week's letter from Aaron

howdy yall, i cant beleive richard and calli are getting married. that is cool. i didnt know about that. thank you for those quotes, i havent done a near good enough job at keeping a journal. this week was really good, we had 7 investigators at church again and now we have 7 baptismal dates set for the month of august. most of them are for right after i leave. there is one family, the premos, they are great. we set a date with gary who is the father in the home for aug 15, then his 2 kids will get baptied 2 weeks later on aug 29 by gary. it will be great. i am praying that it all
I was traveling to Idaho on Monday so I just got his letter read and posted. Many thanks to Mark Murdock the best Dentist in Brigham City, Ut for gluing my crown back in for me at 8:00 p.m. last night! It fell out on the way up there and Tiffani called him and he was so great to meet me there and fix my tooth. (Nothing worse than a toothless redneck! )

Aaron's letter complete with misspelled words, no punctuation and NO capital letters anywhere! So I have to identify the beginning of the letter so you don't think you are jumping in in the middle of the letter! :0)

works out. we were in ward counsil yesterday and we were coordinating with the ward and we told them about the baptism on aug 15 then the young womens leader. asks us why we have baptisms on saturday and pretty much tells us that it is a bad idea and she was trying to get everyone else to back her up but they didnt. and i just told her that this is the way our mission president has said works best so this is how we do it. and she gets mad and said well we wont be at the baptism then. and i said ok. it is awesome working with members who are like that. the work is going great though, me and my companion work well together and great things are happening. i am trying to sprint to the end as much as i can and be as diligent as possible. i have one question that has to do with when you come to get me. how long are you planning on being out here, are you planning on going streight home?is lori going to have her baby soon? i hope yall have a good week and i will talk to yall later. love elder dees
p.s. last p-day we played basketball and i dunked it in a game, it was awesome, biking helps you jump higher:)

Happy Birthday Tiffani & Addison

Tiffani at 3 months old. So cute! Tiffani has most of her pictures, so I didn't have a real good selection to pick from. Maybe she will share them with me soon! :0)

All of out pictures burned up in our fire in 1987, so I have taken pictures from my mom's photo albums and scanned them in. We taught Tiffani at a young age how to talk on the phone! She became an expert by her teenage years!

Oh my goodness, the big hair days! I think She was 13 in this picture, so 90's hair styles. We all thought the perm fuzz was really cool then.

This is obviously Tiffani's Senior Picture, or one of them. Notice the hair styles had changed over the years.

I'm sure she will be thrilled that I put this one in. I believe she was expecting Logan.

What a Guy!

The picture is not very clear, but it is clear enough to see that it is 108 degrees outside. So I hear this loud noise in my backyard and I look out and this is what I see:

Spencer, is mowing the lawn! He fixed our mower and brought it back and now he is mowing the lawn! I have great kids! Thanks Spencer. I can always count on him. (VerLynn and Nathanael are working in California so I am home alone)

I took this picture of Kelsie while Lori and Trevor were at the Dr, so I can explain her eyes. I kept taking pictures of her with the flash on the camera and I looked at her and she kept blinking her eyes real weird. This is one of the blinks. Sorry about the dirty shirt, like every great grandma, she has been eating chocolate chips and anything else she wanted!

This is one of the pictures that made her blink her eyes. Note all the toys on the ground in the back. She is really good at emptying the toy bucket!

Aaron's letter for this week

howdy, this week was awesome. i didnt get transfered so i will finish out here in newton conover. we have really seen the lords hand in the work this week. we had 7 investigators at sacrament meeting. it was awesome. we set a few baptismal dates this week. we have a girl named tiffany, her baptismal date is aug 2, we have gary premo and probably his 2 kids with him on aug 15, we have 2 ladies named melissa with a baptismal date for aug 22. things just started falling into place, i love it. we ahve been working hard to find people to baptise and things are happining now. the thing that has helped the most is first of all we have really tried to be more prayerful and rely on the spirit, and also we have really tried to involve members with each investigator so they could be a big part of each persons convertion. this work is awesome. i love it. in this passed week i have also had people try to hire me to work for them after my mission, it is funny. that letter that dad got from that guy is pretty cool, i bet that made dad feel really good to know that his efforts on his mission really made a difference for someone in such a big way. the greatest joy i have felt in my life has been here on my mission, being able to see the gospel shape and form people and see the joy that they receive. i am excited to serve and i know this trasfer is going to be great. i hope yall have a good week and i will talk to yall later. love elder dees

It's so great to be home and with family

Lori and Melanie were pregnant together with Kelsie and Preston and now they are pregnant together again. I took a picture of them when the were pregnant the first time just like this one so I told them I needed another one just like it. Kelsie wanted in on the action and even lifted her shirt to show her belly! Glad Melanie and Lori kept theirs down. Maybe I will go look through my pictures and post the one I took with their 1st babies. Ok, obviously I found it. This was taken real close to the same far along as they are now. (Is that a sentence?)

Aaron's letter

i am going to return the shirts today then. but this week was good. i did get to meet the new mission president. he is great and i feel the same with him as i did with president hobbs at first. he was a painter for a living. he is a very nice man, and i can tell he expects obedience. it was sad though, he talked to me a little after the meeting we had and he thought i was going home this week. i was like no i am not, i still have a while left but anyways it was good. transfers are this week and i dont think anything will change but i dont know. my companion is good, he is learning well. it was funny, we do service fairly often and we went to mow a lawn and i gave him a lawn mower to use and he was like, i have never used a lawn mower before, what do i do. it was funny, i guess his dad didnt really teach him how to work. he is willing to work though so it is good. things are good, we are really trying to build our teaching pool more. and slowly but surely things are picking up. we may have a baptism at the end of the month but it has the posibility of getting pushed back. on the 4th of july we went out and tried to teach people and had a little success and we were able to set up a few appointments. we also ate at a members house and i played horse shoes for a little bit. it was good. at night i climbed on the roof and tried to see some fireworks but there are so many trees you cant see anything. i heard them though. well i hope yall have a good week and i will talk to yall later. love elder dees
