Logan and Garrett are twins, born 9 years apart. Their birthdays were on the 26th of May. I thought I would share pictures of them in honor of the birthdays. This is of Logan

This is a fairly current picture of Garrett and below is a picture of him when he was a couple of months old. You can see that he has slimmed down some over the years!

Kelsie and Addison

Addison. She is so cute with her big blue eyes (Spencer's daughter)

Kelsie thought the bottom drawer of the dressers were her play pin

This is a video of Kelsie trying to pick up the rocks in the asphalt road. She is a busy girl, always doing something.

Cheese

We had kids and grandkids over yesterday and Preston has learned to pose for the camera. Thought I would share his "cheese" with you.

This Week's letter from Aaron

this week was good, we set 2 baptismal dates. one of the dates is with a girl named ashley, her date is for may 27. the other bap date we set was with a lady named carlita. she is a really nice lady. a few weeks ago we tracted into her and set up a return appointment. we went to the apointment and she wasnt there. we go to church the next sunday and she was at church. what happened is she works with a member and he invited her to church that same week we ran into her. she has now been to church for 3 weeks in a row but our first time teaching her was last night. she is very busy her work scheduel is bad. so on our first lesson we committed her to be baptised and he date is for june 6. the work is moving forward. we are continuing to work with the less actives and part member families and things are going great with them just not as fast as i thought it would be at first. i was at a members house eating yesterday and their brother and sister in law was there, his sister in law served her mission in arizona and i found out that she served in our ward. she had eaten at our house before. she still keeps in contact with the reeds, she said " bro reed is like the most perfect man she has ever met". well yall have a great week and i will talk to ya later. love elder dees

Aaron in Newton North Carolina

Wow, I got pictures of Aaron from Aaron in his e mail today. He had a baptism last Saturday and these are pictures fromit. Elder Leavitt is his companion. I guess Aaron is still towering over everyone.
Aaron called yesterday and he is doing well. He is in Newton and this is a picture of a boy they baptized last week. They have others scheduled and are working with several part member families. He rides his bike every other week, he says the roads are real narrow so people honk at them all the time. He says that most of the people are friendly and will be nice to them even if they aren't interested. But they do run into some that slam doors in their faces and are pretty mean. He says they are usually Baptists that are the mean ones. Go figure. Aren't we all God's children? He also says that a lot of people have never even heard of our religion. Weird when you are used to living in an area where the church is big and well known. He gets released on the 21st of August. Stay tuned for details on the big bash we will have when he gets home.

Show us your Muscles

There is a video clip at the bottom of this post that shows how Little Preston shows us his muscles. It is so funny. After I filmed him, Seth put on his sun glasses and he showed us his muscles. Preston had just thrown a shirt of little Preston, that isn't a ghost.

I think Preston wanted in on the action. We told Seth to put the glasses on Preston, meaning little Preston and he put them on big Preston instead. Below is a video clip of Little guy. It gets blurry in the middle, sorry, I don't know why it did that, so ignore the quality and enjoy little guy.

An apple a day keeps the Dr. Away

Today was our big Apple day. Angie got a really good deal on Apples, so Angie, Sally and I decided to bottle apples. This is the start of our adventure. Nathanael and Ashly are hooking up the apple peelers and we're getting ready to start

Nathanael was a big help peeling the apples. Not sure what Ashly was thinking about. She told VerLynn later tonight that she didn't want to be like him because he was fat! Then she hit his belly and hit hers and she said they felt the same so maybe she was fat too!

You can tell this was still at the beginning of our adventure. You can tell for two reasons. The bucket we put all the apples in is not very full yet and Sally is smiling!

This is getting towards the end of our night. This is one counter full of jars. By the way, these apples make the best pie and apple crisp! YUM

This is the stove that worked more today than it has in all the time we have lived here! We also used my mom and dad's stove to cook all of the syrupy (is that a word?) stuff that makes it all taste so good. I would have put a picture of us at the end with our filthy clothes that had apple stuff all over them and the kids crying and our sore feet, but nobody would pose! It is now 11:00 p.m. and the last dozen jars are just about to come off the stove and then I'm off to the bathtub! Going to eat some apple crisp tomorrow.

Aaron's letter

Sorry, I just posted the video clip of Seth and then I saw Aaron's letter, so I have two new posts to look at. Here's Aaron's letter:

howdy yall
it sure has been a great week. we had a baptism on sunday. alex powers got baptized and he will be confirmed this week. there are a lot of good things happening in this area. the district i am in is doing great, all of us are baptizing here in these couple of weeks. this work is the greatest. i have a cool story for you. we were tracting about a week ago and we ran across this lady her name was carlita, we set up a return appointment with her and went back and she was not there, we figured she was probably just to nice to say no to us. we were at church yesterday and this lady was there her name was carlita. she works with a member and he invited her to church. it was awesome to see that happen. miracles happen everywhere. me and my companion are getting along good. that story pres moyers told was funny, it fits the south very well. i just found out yesterday that mothers day is next sunday, i guess that means i will be calling home. in answer to the question if i was to ever come home if i would rather fly or drive i dont know i would do either i think if we drove it would probably make the transition a little easier and we would be able to see some people out here. but i would be fine with flying to. it would be a lot cheaper to fly, and faster. what ever yall want to do i am fine with. have a good week and enjoy the heat, its not bad here yet people think it is hot but it is only like 80 degrees or so. tell the page family i said hi to them, they are awesome, well i will talk to yall later love elder dees

Give Seth the Little Stream

Seth came over with his mom and Dad and Angie made some very yummy apple crisp with apples she had bottled. It was sooooo good. Seth learned a new song in Primary yesterday and he sang it for me. For anyone reading who aren't familiar with the song, it is called "Give said the little stream" Seth heard a different version in his head and he is singing "give Seth the little stream'! He is always full of something fun.

Simple pleasures for simple people

I love the fact that I now have a headboard! It makes me so happy every time I go into my bedroom. We have been without a headboard since 1987 when we had our fire. It's interesting, since then we have bought new couches, several t.vs, a new front room set, new washer and dryers, new friges, but for some reason we still have the same bedroom dressers that were given to us after our fire from Mal and Deanna Gurr. (thank you again for them, they are still appreciated and you guys are the greatest) It is a set they bought in 1975! I still have the dressers, but now with the new (used from Craig's list) headboard, I feel like I'm in a whole new room. Maybe someday I'll have all new furniture in here, but for now I am happy!

Kelsie is a genius, she can read

Lori and Trevor went out last night for Lori's birthday so I watched Kelsie and I learned something fascinating about her, she is a genius!Let's see, I need to learn more about the President's of the Church, so I will pick this book. It's a little big, but I think I can handle it

Yep, I knew I would love this book, I am already 1/2 way through it.

Done with the first one, now I am going to read the study guide to the Book of Mormon and then I will get to these other ones I pulled down.

Done with those, now I think I need to read some fiction. I'll pick one of these books

Oh, what else does grandma have up there that I can pull down? I'm sure I could reach it if I try hard enough
